Updated Practice Guidelines and Protocols

To Our Stone Ridge Pediatric Dentistry Family,

Your health and the health of our team is our top priority and during this pandemic, we at Stone Ridge Pediatric Dentistry are closely monitoring the status of the coronavirus (COVID-19). We are following the recommendations set by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), the American Dental Association® (ADA) and the Virginia Dental Association (VDA). Our pediatric dentist and team have taken significant precautions and measures to enhance our infection control and safety protocols in and around our office. To that end we ask that you please respect and adhere to the following upgraded safety protocols:

  1. Scheduling Appointments

We will ask you to complete a screening questionnaire prior to scheduling your appointment to help us ensure that we are doing our best to maintain a low risk office.

  2. One Parent per Patient

We ask that you help us in limiting the number of people in the office. Please leave all other siblings at home.

  3. Dial in, to Check in

In accordance with social distancing our reception area is closed. Please call our office (703) 691-5111 and wait in your car when you arrive. When we are ready for you, we will call so we can immediately take you to our treatment area.

  4. Masks

Everyone (staff, patients, and parents) in the office will be required to wear a mask. You will notice our staff will be wearing additional personal protective equipment to help ensure everyone’s safety.

  5. Temperature Check

We will use a non-contact thermometer on you and your child. Temperature readings of 100.4 F or higher will require parent/patient to reschedule.

  6. Handwashing is the Key

As you walk through the office your first official stop will be at the handwashing station, where you and your child will be asked to please wash hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.

  7. Social Distancing

To help minimize possible interaction with other patients and parents we have modified our schedule to facilitate spaced-out appointments. Our goal is to never have you waiting in the reception area to be seen.

  8. Continuous Sanitization

In addition to the universal precautions for sterilization and disinfection already implemented in the office, our team is constantly disinfecting common areas/ high traffic locations throughout the day.

We sincerely appreciate your patience and trust as we move forward with the new normal. Please keep in mind that as we learn more about this virus our guidelines may change based on the recommendations set by the CDC, ADA and VDA. If you have any questions or concerns regarding the guidelines or would like to make a dental appointment in Stone Ridge, Virginia, with Dr. Patricia A. Wood please feel free to give us a call. Thank you.
